Indiana: I removed your very last edit, i.e. the bellow two paragraphs, the reasons is that there is a page about Cheating in Poker. Statements like "many websites ban bots" are incorrect and trown at random. btw -- very few (almost none) web sites ban bots. Hope this isn't discouraging! What you write might be a good starting point for a discussion on how bots may affect the game in the long term, but not really relevant to the winholdem article. If you believe any ofwhat you wrote is an opinion of winholdem's author (Ray Bornert) then please post here a reference. I kept the first paragraph exactly for this reason.

Removed (tbd for inclusion elsewhere):

"Huge battles rage on the "ethics" of pokerbots; many online websites ban them and attempt to detect and remove them. Others argue that this is hopeless, shoveling sand against a tide of programmers and poker players who consider "cheating" an integral part of the game. With billions of dollars at stake the chances of stopping bots from proliferating are probably zero. The game itself is more likely to mutate than anyone is to stop the bots; consider computer viruses.

Online poker websites may actually be torn, marketing-wise because bots not only fill seats and contribute to the rake, but the websites fear of poker "newbies" or "fish" being driven away from online poker out of a A)rational or B) irrational fear of bots, and back to traditional "brick and mortar" casinos."

Old stuff

Level of pokerbots

I didn't know where to put this or how to start a new page...

A mention of WinHoldem's advantages over OPI's AI limitations would, I think, be relevant to the WinHoldem article and would not be biased if written properly.

Ray mentions and explains in great detail on this thread [1] what the "levels" are in terms of bot AI complexity and states in the third post here [2] why Winholdem is "better" than OPI due to its greater flexibility in modification and consequently higher classification as a poker bot.

A page with a copy of Ray's explanation of pokerbot AI "levels" should definitely be added to this Wiki, as it is very pertinent and useful information.

Indiana: I have seen that you didn't register. Do it (now all your IP is all over). Also pls leave comment with your nickname (so that it's clear to whom the comment belong). Unfortunately our community is not at the state of Wiki where other people care about this :)

Now, on Ray's "definitions". This will be a tough discussion. Ray writing is indeed comprehensive, and also somewhat techically correct. But it is very insignificant from game theory point of view, and confusing e.g. the use of word optimal. I agree that it should be stressed (somewhere visible) what are the strenghts of WH versus OPI and it is OK if language is understandable for non-theory people, but I would need some more time for how to put this down with both giving some credit and not offending Ray.

Maybe it make sense to get WH resellers on a separate page, as they are relevant for both WH and OH ...
